About the YMCA
Accessibility
The YMCA is available to everyone regardless of race, creed, nationality, and disability. Limited financial aid is available on a first come, first served basis. Every effort is made to ensure that eligible financial aid applicants are not turned away based on the inability to pay.
Philosophy
The YMCA seeks to ensure growth in individuals so that they may develop capabilities for leadership, grow as responsible members of their families and citizens of their community, develop self-confidence and self respect and an appreciation for physical fitness and mental well being.
YMCA Traditions
Working with families and children is not new to the YMCA. For over 125 years, Y leaders have worked with people in specific and effective ways. These traditions are to be maintained by YMCA personnel. Group work principles are applied. The whole person is of concern. A global perspective is involved. Volunteer, community based control is maintained.
